Rosie is an oversized shirt with a grown-on sleeve, a "V" front neck and notched collar, sleeve cuffs and a four-button closure.
On the back side, Rosie features a wide back yoke and four back pleats. Rosie is a hip-length shirt.
Due to the nature of digital files, we do not accept returns on our PDF patterns or products.
SUITABLE FABRICS
For a soft, drapey effect, choose fabrics like tencel, silk, viscose, rayon challis, linen viscose blends and tencel blends.
Interfacing: lightweight woven interfacing.

HEIGHT
The pattern is offered in two height groups: 160 and 170 cm (5’3” and 5’7”), when buying this pattern you should select the closest height to your body, if you are in the middle choose the tallest. Both patterns have exactly the same width around the body, the only difference is in the length.
If you are outside these groups, you may need to alter the pattern length at the lengthen/shorten lines marked on the pattern pieces.

Like the previous reviewer, I was a bit taken aback by the one negative review regarding the Rosie shirt. It is absolutely not deserved . If the sewer had issues with the pattern she should either watched the video or contacted Bella or both.
I can't say enough about Bella's patterns: the instructions are clear, very detailed and precise. I followed the companion video - which was helpful and I recommended it especially when attaching the collar. I was thrilled with the result (my collar was almost perfect and far better than anything I had tried before) and I can't wait to make another one to add to my spring summer wardrobe. The shirt in the photo below is a printed 100% silk fabric I found in Paris. It has a nice weight-not too flimsy. Silk can be a bit tricky to cut out, but once you piece together, it sews beautifully.
Not only does Bella have great patterns, but I learned a few skills to add to my repertoire. I have been sewing for decades, and what a pleasure to find this jewel in the personnel sewing domaine. Thank you Bella. You are a delight!

I absolutely adored this pattern. Bella always makes extremely well thought out beautifully shaped garments. The shaping on the collar is really elegant and the little details of the double pleat on the back shoulders is very satisfying. There are french seams within keeping things neat and tidy on the inside. The collar was definitely tricky to sew (the photos are not super clear) but if you go slow and make sure you have sufficient interfacing (both sides of the collar; not just one side like I opted to do!) it's 100% do-able! I sewed this in a M&M's Hemp Cotton which made it much stiffer and more casual. I'm planning a second in a drapey fabric as per recommendations. Oh and as a person of short stature I hugely appreciate the height bandings :)
One of my big aims was to go searching for patterns that would really teach me some great techniques and Bella delivers! I must say I’m not sure what was wrong for the person who gave this 3 stars as it is really a very good pattern and detailed instructions. The sew along is great and really helped with the collar which was the most complicated bit.
Did I make mistakes? Yes. Did I regret using silk twill? Absolutely. But I still love my shirt and can’t wait to make another one. I have been searching for patterns that have detailed and interesting techniques to use and as my second make from BLP I have not been disappointed.
I do agree having greater contrast in the photos would help but the sew along cleared that up.
The collar is confusing and mine is definitely not as beautiful as the sample but I’m still so happy with the result. I can’t wait to purchase another pattern and I can’t wait to make another Rosie top.
One perfect shirt, on attempt number 1! Used the size range for a petite person, also watched the sew-along video which is really useful. Lots of tailoring tips in the video and instructions. So pleased with the outcome I am about to start Rosie number 2! It's not a straightforward sew, and certainly worth the effort; collar lies flat and the sewing technique works. I will definitely try more patterns by Bella!
